Commission spokeswoman Kelli Weldon said the daycare "extremely violates state licensing standards." That prompted the agency's licensing division to certify that Coastal Bend Childcare 4 Kinder Town "poses an immediate risk to the health and safety of children."

The business was placed on "corrective maintenance" in March, allowing the center time to resolve the issues. The center did not address many of the reported violations.

The state notified the nursing home owner of its decision to revoke the business permit after "breaching the terms of the corrective action plan."

During the corrective action, three visits were made to the daycare center that showed the business was out of compliance, a letter to the daycare center states.

According to the letter, there were a number of failings including supervisory responsibilities, childcare, health and safety risks, supervision of children, qualified staff, comparison of looked after children and lack of adequate supervision by a competent person.
